A sweet treat just in time for Halloween. We just received our new single barrel pick of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and it does not disappoint. We decided to name this barrel, BROWN SUGAR CINNADREAM”Z” and I think when you taste it you’ll know why.

This barrel comes in at 9 years of age, 126.7 proof, and comes from warehouse “Z”. The nose starts off with cinnamon laced oak, a hint of vanilla, dark brown sugar, and candied cherries. First sip starts with a rich mouthfeel of liquid brown sugar, and after its swallowed, the spice and wood notes come forward with old fashioned cinnamon candy coming through strong. Lingering notes of vanilla and maraschino cherry as well.

The finish is smooth with a lasting baking spice flavor and warm hug from the high alcohol. Personally I like the way it drinks at cask strength, but if you find yourself not used to the heat of cask strength an ice cube or a splash of water certainly did not hurt the flavor for me.
