Pigoudet l’Oratoire 2021 Rosé
$21.99 / 750ml
I’ve tasted a few dozen 2021 rosé so far this year, and I can easily say that the finest one I’ve tried to date is the Pigoudet l’Oratoire. In a normal year Pigoudet’s Premiere rosé is easily one of our most popular, but for a step up in quality the l’Oratoire is an excellent bottle of wine. No Whispering about it to be done, I would shout this from the roof tops.
Located at the northern end of the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation, the Chateau Pigoudet has 40 hectares of south facing vines 400m above sea level. Their wines are always marked by precision and balance.
The wine is made up of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon (in that order) and would make a fine pair to sushi / sashimi, fried smelts, salad niçoise, or simply a warm afternoon.
